Cortech by Tour Master GX Sport Series 2 Textile Jacket

The GX Sport Series 2 jacket is a comfortable waist length textile jacket that will work great for cold to mild weather. For airflow the jacket has two good sized shoulder intake vents, two bicep vents, two chest vents and a large rear exhaust vent. Tourmaster makes a lot out of the various features that keep the vents open, but hot weather comfort in this jacket will be limited. Why? The jacket offers waterproof construction by way of a mid-liner (a waterproof barrier between the jacket’s shell and the nylon mesh interior lining). Although the zippered venting is extensive the mid-liner won’t allow free flow of air all the way through the jacket to your skin. Therefore I recommend this jacket for cold to mild weather use (but not for hot weather). For cooler rides a removable full sleeve liner is included and can be installed to add a layer of insulation which looks to be substantial and should work great. For crash protection the shoulders and elbows come equipped with removable CE approved armor and there is also a removable triple density backpad. There is also some external padding in the back of the jacket providing additional impact protection and adding to the overall looks of the jacket. The jacket allows you to customize the fit with an adjustable waist, sleeves and cuff closures. For added nighttime visibility there is reflective piping wrapped around the jacket at the shoulders and a reflective Cortech logo on the back of the jacket between the shoulders. There is an 8” jacket to pants attachment zipper for use with any Tour Master or Cortech riding pants. Despite the issue with the venting, this jacket is a great value considering the extensive protection and convenience features.
